Athletics training for youngsters

Athletics is a great activity for children that provides a variety of benefits other than physical activity. Participation in athletics can help build self-esteem and confidence, can motivate children to excel academically and can help build social skills. Participation also can teach children the benefits of goal-setting and practice.

More importantly it is FUN.

Throws

Due to physical and technical requirements, minimum age is children in School Year 6.

Discus and Hammer

Wednesdays 6.00pm–7.00 pm at the County Ground track, Swindon (meet every week unless raining or coach on holiday)

Javelin and Shot

Thursdays 6.00pm to 7.00pm

Please note as places are limited, children may be assessed for technical suitability. Having said that, we would encourage any young athlete interested, to give it a go.

Wednesdays, 6.00 pm– for a 6.15 pm start, at the County Ground track, Swindon.

We meet most weeks, although shut for a period over the Winter.

Due to the physical and technical requirements of the event, we are unable to accommodate children below School Year 6.
